12-Day Amaltas Christmas Advent Calendar for Slow Holiday Care

December always arrives with a soft kind of excitement — twinkling lights, cosy evenings, warm drinks, and a quiet invitation to pause before the year ends.
At Amaltas, we wanted to create something that matched this mood.
Something gentle. Something grounding.
Something that lets you return to yourself, one small ritual at a time.

So, this year, we’re bringing you our 12-Day Amaltas Christmas Advent Calendar — a virtual celebration of calm, ritual, and slow holiday joy.

Why We Created This Advent Calendar

The holidays are beautiful, but they can also be overwhelming.
We wanted to offer something different — small rituals that feel like tiny exhale moments.
A way to step into December with more intention, more presence, and more calm.

This advent calendar isn’t about things; it’s about feelings.
It’s about grounding yourself in tiny pauses that become meaningful rituals.
It’s about remembering that beauty is found in slowness.

And with each ritual, we hope you feel held, softened, and gently renewed.

No rush. No countdown urgency. Just 12 tiny moments of care, created to help you breathe a little deeper and feel a little softer this season.

Day 1 — Winter Infused Water Ritual

We begin with warmth.
A quiet morning ritual that gently wakes the body and grounds the mind.

Think warm infused water—simple, nourishing, intentional.

Here are a few winter-friendly recipes you can try:

1. Clove Warm Water (the classic winter healer) Simmer 3–4 cloves in water for 3–4 minutes. Helps digestion, warms the body, and keeps winter sluggishness away.

2. Cinnamon & Orange Peel Water Add half a cinnamon stick + a clean strip of orange peel to warm water. Balances blood sugar, boosts mood and smells like Christmas in a cup.

3. Ginger & Tulsi Water Add 2 slices of ginger + 2 tulsi leaves. Great for immunity, soothing the throat, and easing winter stress.

A small cup. A slow sip. A softer start to December.

Day 2 — A Hand Ritual of Gratitude

Today, we slow the hands that hold our days together.
Cuticles softened. Fingers massaged. A pause to acknowledge all that our hands carry—work, care, creation, comfort.

Ten seconds of stillness.
A quiet thank you to yourself.

Day 3 — The Christmas Movie Pause

An invitation to create your own movie ritual.
Not for productivity or plans—but for comfort.

Choose a film you’ve watched before. Curl into your favourite corner. Let familiar stories quiet the noise.

  1. Home Alone – Classic comfort, childhood nostalgia, and pure festive chaos

  2. The Holiday – Soft romance, winter vibes, and cosy homes you’ll wish you lived in

  3. Love Actually – Intertwined stories, big feelings, and Christmas magic everywhere

  4. A Christmas Carol – A timeless reminder of kindness, warmth, and second chances

  5. Little Women – Gentle storytelling, family, love, and winter warmth

  6. Harry Potter & the Philosopher’s Stone – Not a Christmas movie, but always feels like one

  7. The Polar Express – Magical, nostalgic, and perfect for a quiet December night

  8. While You Were Sleeping – Soft romance with winter city charm

  9. It’s a Wonderful Life – Soul-stirring, reflective, and deeply comforting

  10. Elf – Light, joyful, and guaranteed to lift the mood

Sometimes calm looks like a blanket, a bowl of popcorn, and nowhere else to be.

Day 4 — A corner that feels like a deep exhale

Start with a quiet spot in your home — a window nook, a balcony corner, or that one chair you always gravitate towards. Add a soft throw or shawl for warmth, because Indian winters are gentle, but they still ask for comfort.

Bring in flowers — Lilies, white Chrysanthemums, or even fresh greens — something living, something grounding. Let a small Christmas tree or a few fairy lights glow softly, not loud, just enough to warm the room.

Light a candle or incense with a scent that feels familiar and calming. Brew a cup of coffee, chai, or hot cocoa and let it sit beside you while you slow down. Stack a couple of books you’ve been meaning to read, the kind you can open and close without pressure.

Finish your corner with small rituals — a hand cream by the chair, a lip balm on the side table, maybe a body oil for evenings when the day feels heavy. Not to rush through skincare, but to linger with it.

This Christmas, let your home hold space for you.

Less decor. More comfort.

Less noise. More calm.

Day 5 — Your future skin will thank you for adding these to your cart today.

Slow down the rush and turn your grocery run into a small ritual of care. Pause before you pick. Choose foods that nourish, glow, and restore — from the inside out.

Your skincare routine doesn’t start in the bathroom — it starts on your plate.

What you nourish your body with today shows up on your skin tomorrow.

From antioxidant-rich berries to omega-loaded walnuts and glow-boosting dark chocolate, these everyday foods quietly work behind the scenes to support hydration, repair, and radiance.

Think of it as beauty you eat, not just apply.

Add them to your cart, your meals, and your daily rituals — your future skin will thank you for it.

Day 6 — A slow holiday playlist

Today’s ritual is one you can carry through your day.

A slow holiday playlist—soft enough to blend into your morning, gentle enough to stay with you through chores, work, and winding down.

  • Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – Norah Jones

  • River – Joni Mitchell

  • Snowman – Sia

  • Winter Song – Sara Bareilles & Ingrid Michaelson

  • The Christmas Song – Ella Fitzgerald

  • Silent Night – Andrew Peterson (Acoustic)

  • Christmas Time Is Here – Daniela Andrade

  • White Winter Hymnal – Fleet Foxes

  • I’ll Be Home for Christmas – She & Him

  • O Come, O Come Emmanuel – The Piano Guys

  • Cozy Little Christmas – Katy Perry (Slow version)

  • Moon River – Audrey Hepburn (for a non-Christmas but cozy vibe)

Let it play while you make your tea, fold laundry, journal, cook, or simply sit by the window.

Music has a way of softening the edges of a busy day—calming the mind, slowing the breath, and bringing us back into the moment.

This season, let sound become part of your self-care.

Not something you rush through, but something you live inside.

Day 7 — Unwind & Reset

After a long day of screens, notifications, and constant doing— your skin and mind both need a pause.

Today’s ritual is simple:

Apply a face mask, set a timer for 10 minutes, and put your phone away.

No scrolling. No replying. Just breathing.

Face masks aren’t just skincare—they’re a signal to slow down.

They help your skin recover, and your nervous system relax.

That 10-minute screen-off window tells your body: it’s safe to rest now.

Day 8 — Books you can read this Christmas

December doesn’t always need more plans.

Sometimes, it just needs better pauses.

A quiet book.

A warm drink.

A moment that belongs only to you.

  • A Christmas Carol — a reminder that warmth, kindness, and second chances never go out of season.

  • The Wind in the Willows — gentle adventures, slow friendships, and the comfort of home.

  • Before Your Coffee Gets Cold — small moments, tender conversations, and the beauty of time.

  • Outlander — rich storytelling that pulls you into another world entirely.

  • Confessions of a Christmas Shopaholic — lighthearted, festive, and perfect for cosy afternoons.

  • Little Women — timeless, heartfelt, and filled with love, family, and winter warmth.

We end where touch becomes therapy.

A gentle manicure. Cuticles cared for. Nails nourished.
A ritual of patience, presence, and finishing the year with care at your fingertips.

Here’s to soft mornings.
